The artwork:
This artwork represents a semi-transparent cocoon behind which an alien (who crashed on Earth) is breathing...
While humans tried hard to break into this cocoon in order to discover what's inside this alien's body, all attempts have failed.
Indeed, like a spider with its net, this alien is able to regenerate its cocoon in no time... so, for now, the only thing humans are able to see is its breath.
This Alien Breath is Multiophtapupiloptomic, as each breath generates light, a phenomenon which scientists explain as being part of a short controlled nuclear fusion reaction happening inside this Alien's body. If we were to understand how this technology works, the World as we know it and the way energy is generated, distributed and sold would radically change. The panel of scientists sponsored by the UN already mentioned that, based on this alien's technology, their goal is to find a way to provide an affordable, portable and unlimited source of energy. We wish them success for this project.

Technical details
This is sheet of PMMA behind which 41 LEDs (yes, not 42... that would be too easy) are being lit. The single board computer which controls the LEDs has 3 different algorithms which are randomly being shown. The colors are randomly generated, LED by LED, leading to an artwork that will mathematically never be the same twice.
As it is using very few energy, this device is made to work 24/7 and has no standby mode.
This artwork uses a dual USB power adapter (100V-240V) with a CEE7/16 (Europlug) plug that can be changed for US or UK plugs.
